Grandmaster Nagles Favorite Kicks

Grandmaster Nagle's Back Kick - Standing within a foot of the opponent, in an oblique Seisan stance, with forward foot to the side of the opponent’s forward foot, fake a hand move to the face, drawing the opponent’s block and hands to the fake. At this exact moment, snap the upper part of your body down to the side away from the opponent and with the back foot kept close to your body, drive the kick upward to strike the opponent in either the solar plexus or chin (or both), with the ball of your foot. At the moment that the kick starts, chamber the kick with the back of the leg against the back of the thigh. At that point, extend the foot straight upward toward the point of impact. This kick, with the fake, is accomplished in one second and doesn’t allow the opponent to react or get away.

Grandmaster Nagles Skip in Side Kick- Standing in Seiuchin stance, with feet at shoulder width, quickly slid the rear foot toward the forward foot. Using the force of the rear foot contacting the forward foot, the forward leg begins to move in an arc toward the opponent as the foot rises to hip height and chambering it. The leg then thrusts toward the opponent’s hi or side, with the blade of the foot striking the target zone. This is a “quick” kick and done fast enough to surprise the opponent. To aid in catching the opponent off guard, slap the thigh of the lead leg , quickly bringing that hand to opponent’s eye level. The moment the hand reaches hip level, you start the kick.
