Branden Newton has studied Isshin-Ryu Karate for 14 years. He is currently a Third-Degree Black Belt (San-Dan). Branden is a member of the American Okinawan Karate Association, and a registered black belt with them. He is also a member of the World Karate Union Hall of Fame, the Universal Martial Arts Hall of Fame, and the American Freestyle Karate Association. Branden has competed in various championships throughout the country. In 2004, he was inducted into the Isshin-Ryu Hall of Fame in Gatlinburg, Tennessee as the Young Male Karate-Ka of the Year. In 2007 Sensei Newton was named South Carolina State Director for the prestigious Universal Martial Arts Hall of Fame, under the Professor Guerra. Sensei Newton currently holds a Third Degree Black belt in Isshin-ryu and a Second Degree Black belt in American Freestyle.
Sensei Newton is a student of Isshin-ryu under the awesome Grandmaster Ed McGrath. Sensei Newton is also in a group of dedicated Martial Artist that owe so much to the Legend, Grandmaster Don Nagle, who laid the very foundation of Isshin-ryu we study today. The Legend Lives On
