Hanshi McGrath's fighting principals
seminar
hosted by Shihan Ernie temple
June 22, 2005
Hanshi McGrath,
My students and I are grateful for the seminar you gave us last week. You
delivered exactly what I was looking for in presenting a forum wherein the
students had the opportunity to see and hear first hand, your experiences and
techniques.
I told them that they were in store for some outstanding “stories from one of the first generation” of martial artists. Your delivery and humor was top shelf! We have had the privilege of having Grand Master Nagle at the Dojo for seminars and his talent can never be matched, but you are in a class of your own and we look for your next visit.
I wholeheartedly recommend that every Isshin-Ryu Dojo in the tri-state area schedule an event with you. Your senior people, John Pinghero and Frank Klos were exceptional and we thank them for their time and effort. The “Shirasaya Sword” that I was able to present to you is just a small token of our appreciation.
Your friend in the Art,

The sword, called a "Shirasaya" which is created by a single piece of wood and
an
incredibly
razor sharp blade. It is unique and beautiful. It will have a place of honor in
my den. We did this seminar with the knowledge gained after five years of
teaching Hand-to-Hand Combat and showed over 90 students how to respond to a
serious attacker with a fatal response that takes five seconds.
