"This picture is one that people should scan, put in a frame and place on the wall of their dojo or home. It took place at Camp Lejeune, N.C., Gy.Sgt. Don Bohan's last duty station and the site of his main dojo. This picture shows many of the top teachers, in many styles. Master Isaac had the plaque custom made for Brother Bo. Grand Master Don Nagle and myself are holding the plaque for presentation, with Don standing next to Ed McGrath. To the left are Ernie Cates who owned the dojo that held the First Isshin-ryu Dojo in America. next to Ernie is Gary Alexander, while somewhat hidden I believe the next person is Ralph Chirico and then Major Bill Hayes, USMC (Ret.) who is probably the best known of the Shorin-Ryu stylists and most knowledgeable karate-ka in America, Carl Mangione, Al Smith, in the wheel chair is the late Ted Volrath, a former Marine and double amputee from Nam, who wowed audiences with his self-defense demos from Madison Square Garden to California. On the right, behind Don Nagle is Master Ralph Passero, next to him is Master Larry Isaac a former terror in fighting tournaments and Marine Master Gy. Sgt. USMC (Ret.), with one of his best fighters.
