America’s Amnesia
On 9/11/2001 we awoke to a horrific shock, an attack on our nation the likes of which we had not sustained since the cowardly Japanese sneak attack on Pearl Harbor. However, this new disaster took place on American soil within the city of New York. In fact, many millions of Americans sat in front of their television set in amazement that an airliner had just crashed into the North Trade Tower in the Wall Street area. We were unsure of why this happened, how could our pilots in charge of an American airliner make such a terrible mistake. But as we watched in stunned disbelief a second airliner came into view and crashed into the South Trade Tower. Suddenly it dawned on those who watched this scenario, as well as the correspondents on the TV networks, that this was a deliberate attack on the most well known and visual evidence of America’s Markets and Capitalism itself. They had just been attacked by lunatics bent on bringing down our way of life and our system of government.
At that point, I told my wife Gene, that automatic extinguishers and the Fire Department would curb the fire. I could not have been further from reality. Within minutes the horror became grotesque as workers on the fiery floors enveloped in flames, came to the windows for air and then in their agony threw themselves from the building falling ninety or more floors. I had just retired months before this event, or I might have been there speaking with my clients in the trading houses. Those were my friends; acquaintances and we knew each other, intimately. I was in an out of that building about three times a week.
As I sat there in my den watching this unbelievable sight, the First Responders began to surround the two Towers in large numbers and bravely went about the business that they were trained for, rushing into the building, both Fire Department personnel and Police did what they felt was their duty, to save as many people as they could and save the buildings which were the preeminent marks of New York cities skyline. They ran as quickly as they could, up the staircases and through the down stairs shopping area, which also held the Mercantile Exchange, where I had installed all of their electronic Trading Phones. The fire fighters and police were in contact with the on board MTA police and together you could see them lead stunned and injured workers out of both Towers and then rush back into the buildings to help others. Just think of the effort and dedication it took for the men to run up the steps for over eighty floors while helping terror stricken and injured workers outside. Meanwhile, desperate people could still be seen diving out of windows, falling over eight hundred feet to the sidewalks and doom, the relief of death. May God have mercy on all of their souls.
And then, when you thought you had seen the worst disaster in America’s history, first one Tower and then the other Tower collapsed upon themselves as the steel heated beyond the melting point, and in a monstrous cloud of dust and debris Billions of tons of concrete and steel drove down toward the Police cars, Emergency Vehicles and Fire Apparatus that were crushed like Tonka Toys under the weight of these two buildings. The crowds of onlookers who were hoping for a different outcome were suddenly a part of this dilemma, running for their lives. Among them was Police Captain Timothy McCarthy, my Godson, who was later to tell me that he had to throw his uniform away, since the silt, ash and debris was ground into the fabric forever. A fleeting thought suddenly ran through my head that I had installed the Trading Room of Cantor, Fitzgerald Trading Company, which had a museum of the largest private collection of statues of Sandro Botticelli, artist and sculptor, including The Thinker, The Muses and many other, that I saw at the opening celebration of their new offices in the Trade Towers, just years before this disaster. I remember telling my wife that they were now nothing but crushed metal. I still have the Presentation Book that was given out to all of the invitees, with pictures of the collection and narrative on them.
But that pales into insignificance to the friends that I lost from that firm and others in the building. As it turned out, Osama Bin Laden, the off-spring of Beelzebub, the Devil was being congratulated for his slap into the face of America, where over Three Thousand Innocents, were murderously slaughtered by terrorists belonging to the religion of Islam, propagated by their prophet Mohammed, a former Camel Train driver working for his wealthy wife. He began to create his new religion in his hometown, Mecca, and tried to enlist worshippers for this religion among family and friends. The populace of Mecca, who treated him as though he was a fool, rebuffed him. He then moved to Medina, where he married the older, well to-do woman. In his travels, he met and spoke with Bedouin Tribesmen, who were also shunned, since they were war like and often took what they wanted. They took to Mohammed and, in effect, became the first recruits in his army of vengeance. The first target for Mohammed was the city of Mecca, where he and his Bedouins slaughtered the entire population of his homeland, men, women and children, but not before he gave his terrorists permission to rape the women before killing them. The Koran states that the infidel (all people not of the Islamic faith) must either be converted to Islam or die. You and I are the infidels.
Actually, this was not their first try at the Towers, for in 1993, they planted a truck bomb in the garage of the hotel adjacent to the Towers. When it exploded it killed and maimed many of the people at work or in the area. Again, they were simply workers and tourists. President Clinton treated this as though it was a crime and not a terrorist attack. He brought in the FBI. He was trained in that response, since he also was President when our troops were murdered in the Kobhar Towers in Saudi Arabia, sending FBI there and getting little or no response or aid from the Saudis. In his only conversation with a highly placed Saudi Prince, all he wanted from him, rather then cooperation, was a donation for Clinton’s Library, which eventually came in the form of a $3,000,000.00 check. He saw two of our Embassies bombed by Bin Laden’s terrorists, he saw the U.S.S. Cole bombed, killing seventeen of our young sailors. In each instance, he went on TV and with an angry sneer, wagged that finger of his in our face and vowed vengeance and justice, but simply sent the FBI to Yemen where they received no information or aid. Bill was too busy with Monica Lewinsky at that time to worry about our troops, who he had earlier stated that he despised and he became our Commander-In-Chief. Whenever he got into trouble for his flagrant character, he would send troops into harm’s way, to give the media something else to discuss. In fact, about that time, the Sudan knew where Osama Bin Laden was and offered to turn him over to the United States Government. Clinton passed on the idea and went his merry way.
President George W. Bush was in Office, just three months, when the 9/11 Twin Towers bombing took place. He quickly vowed that Terrorism against America or it’s allies would be revenged and Congress stood solidly behind him in that effort and when he decided that it would be best to target someone who had links to Al Quadda, who was known through his own speeches to have Weapons of Mass Destruction and who murdered thousands of his own people, while torturing and raping a large portion of his own people. This was indeed a monstrous man and stood above the other tyrants and his expulsion and hoped for demise, would set the stage, in the Middle East, for sober reflection. Good to his word, President Bush first attacked the Taliban in Afghanistan and either killed or drove them out into hiding in the mountains of other regions. Then with the approbation of Congress and the U.N., including the left wing contingent in Congress, who mimicked everything that President Bush said. John Kerry, the Clintons, Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi, John Dean and the usual suspects all got behind the Iraq War. President Bush openly told America that defeating Islamic terrorism would be a long hard fight and require great sacrifice by our troops. He spoke in that manner, because we finally had a President in the Oval Office who was not looking for poll results, but trusted his own ethics and moral compass. Our troops proved to be as dedicated as “Our Greatest Generation,” taking a matter of weeks to drive into the heart of Iraq and eventually killing both of Saddam’s blighted evil sons and discovered Saddam hiding in a dirt hole beside a small shack that an Iraqi called home. The Marines pulled Saddam from his rat hole, without this murderous individual even making any pretense of a fight. However, sensing the Democratizing of the Middle East the surrounding nations, most either under despotic tyrants or a Theocracy, sent the dregs of fanatics into Iraq to stem the tide of freedom that the Imams despise. Saddam had been rewarding suicide bombers throughout the Middle East, by sending $25,000.00 to the bombers family.
These terrorists poured into Iraq, in a last ditch effort to thwart democracy within the Middle East, coming from Saudi Arabia, Iran, Syria, Yemen and other Islamic nations. Our troops readied themselves for the long battle that President Bush had predicted. But the moment that the first casualties took place in Iraq the pundits in the New York Post, Boston Globe, Washington Post and other leftist, anti-America news outlets began a flood of bad news, each time one of our troops became a casualty, despite the fact that they beheaded a journalist who had been taken as a hostage. Beheadings became a strong part of the terrorist’s tactics of fear. IEDs on the side of the roads often exploded with our convoys passing, killing or maiming our troops. This would be highlighted in the news immediately with the tale of the piece asking if we were in a Vietnam quagmire. They were warming up to the point where they would demand the withdrawal of our troops, running from our duty as President Johnson did, by not bombing Hanoi into the Stone Age. Quitting when things get rough had become imbued into the very heart, soul and psyche of every Liberal Congressman. They felt that appeasement would make everything right again. There is no appeasement with Terrorism bent on death for America and President Bush told Congress that he would stay the course. The result was for the entire Democratic Party (with the exception of Joe Liebermann (D) Connecticut, who has now been treated as a pariah by his party) started to pick up a laundry list of complaints about the handling of the War on Terrorism, we had too few troops in Iraq, we had too many troops in Iraq, we were too rough on terrorist prisoners who beheaded people, our troops were terrorists themselves because they attacked houses at night, when we got a tip where terrorists might be hiding (this last one was highlighted by John Kerry and we know how much he can be trusted to tell the truth regarding combat) and finally under the Patriot Act, the National Security Agency began to intercept telephone communications where calls came from the Middle East to someone in The United States or vice versus, in order to cut off any plot to harm Americans. Unlike Clinton’s administration when they intercepted and recorded every e-mail, or telephone call made or sent in America. It seems that Clinton’s plunge into our citizen’s privacy was no problem for Democrats, but following information from Terrorist nations to people who may belong to a terrorist cell in our nation by President Bush is intrusive and un-Constitutional. They not only have been pounding this issue constantly, backed by the bias media, but it went so far afield that on George Stephanopolus show, Russ Feingold (D) Wisconsin, stated the President was abusing the Constitution, by delving into domestic wiretaps (he made it sound as though NSA was tapping into average Americans, which is not at all the case) and stated that it is “high crimes and misdemeanors,” which could be used to impeach the President. The fact of the manner is that Russ Feingold is a candidate for the Presidency and needs publicity, but this backfired, since the public prefers the wire tapping for our national security. Fiengold has a non-starter, since even the Liberals aren’t backing him. No sitting President has been censured since Andrew Jackson. Senate Chairman Frist was on the same show and said, “Russ is wrong, he is flat wrong, he is dead wrong. He also said that it sends a bad signal to our enemies abroad. It is about time for Liberals and other Democrats shut up and sit down, to try to come up with an idea, possibly to settle our problem with Social Security.
The people that Russ Fiengold is aiding and abetting are murderous, filthy minded, twisted Terrorists. But that doesn’t occur to Russ, who hasn’t got a clue, after three terms in Congress and now he wants to be President and this was his initial ploy. What a laugh that is after his big mouth killed any hope he had.
The terrorists have no rules. They used their own Mosques thought to be sacred to the Muslim terrorists, as defensive barriers, knowing that American troops would consider the Mosques off the list of possible targets. Meanwhile, the Islamist fanatics fired on our troops from the windows of the mosques, ate their food, urinated and defecated in those same sacred Mosques. They stated that they fought for their religion, but defiled it when it was more convenient. As the battles heated up and troops were assigned to attack multiple areas to face the insurgents and deal with them, the Democrats saw the polls that said 77% of Americans were backing President Bush’s Iraq War. That was a bad omen for future elections for the Presidency and the majority in Congress. So memos were sent out to discourage the American people and revile the President, whom the Democrats hated, in any case. Our troops never lost a battle when the terrorists stood to fight and tried to make a stand, just as we never lost a battle in Vietnam. But when the Tet Offensive took place, although the Viet Cong were wiped out and never returned to battle and the North Vietnamese Regular Army were driven back into North Vietnam, with savage loss of life among them. But then the Lord of News Walter Cronkite, a Left Wing media darling, doomed our efforts when he said, “We cannot win this war.” Now John Dean, the Head of the DNC, has mimicked Cronkite saying “we can’t win this War,” and the Liberals do not let a day pass where they don’t use the term quagmire and state that we are losing in Iraq. Despite the fact that we have beaten the Iraqi Army (Third largest in the World) within weeks and are felling the insurgents in a ratio of twenty to one. We have the most powerful Armed Force in the world and its technology is far ahead of any other nation in the world, barring the Top Secret Missile technology that Clinton allowed the Chinese to gain. The Democrats have no platform to speak of, other than pure venom and hatred of President Bush. Consider the horror of Al Gore being in the White House after 9/11. He would have looked to appease the enemy who in their very souls are bent on killing all infidels. But the Democrats are angry because they are not in power, so they hold secret meetings and send out memos telling their base what they must do and say to tear down the accomplishments of George Bush, whom they, as self pronounced elitists intelligence (when Bill Clinton called the average American “Joe Six-Pack,” he was simply revealing what they thought of our populace) see themselves as the future of a Socialistic nation. Kerry, who can’t get through a sentence without lying or contradicting himself and took positions during his candidacy that were so stupid that average Americans simply shook their heads in bewilderment. Their moral integrity is left in the hands of Sen. Byrd, a former KKK Klugal (leader), who voted and filibustered against The Equal Rights Amendment, leaving only the Republicans to pass this legislation to aid African Americans. It is President George W. Bush who tried to pass legislation to give poor students the ability to choose a better school where their education would be preeminent. He also tried to pass Social Security redevelopment, including using a small percentage of the FICA tax that every employer and employee pay into throughout their working life, only to get $1,000.00 per month or less to live on after retirement. Try that in this day and age. If it had been adopted, the President’s initiative a small percentage of FICA, would have belonged to the employee as a private fund. It would be invested in a widely spread source of investments, such as stocks, bonds, government bonds, money markets, real estate and others. At the retirement age, the money in that fund would pay out double or triple what Social Security would yield and if the employee died one day after retiring, that money would be passed to the family. President Bush meant this to be a method for African Americans and Hispanic immigrants to build wealth within their families, passing it on to each generation, as it multiplied bringing them into the middle class and higher. The Democrats killed this initiative, since they need to have these minorities dependent upon them under Welfare. This amounts to Twenty First Century Slavery, which must stop now. As I listen to Conservative talk shows, I find that more and more of the call-ins are from Conservative Blacks and Hispanics, who realize that the Democrats have had their boot on their neck for far too long. Now, thanks to the Equal Rights Amendment, many of the top executives in Wall Street and other Commercial firms are Black and Hispanic. At first, it was just hiring to put on a good face, but after several years, these young men and women showed that they were bright, challenging and upwardly mobile. That has continued and gotten stronger in the last two decades. That does not bring a smile to the faces of Democrats. Just as they hate what is taking place in Iraq, they don’t care for the shift in voting.
They are so bitter, that it is not incorrect to say that they want our troops to lose the Iraq War and, as well hope for a decline in our financial blast furnace. They believe that anything that hurts America, will aid them in regaining power, so that they can take back The House and Senate. President Bush did not go into Iraq solely because he despised Saddam Hussein and his sadistic sons, he knew that Hussein was the focal point of radical Islamic goals and it would be meaningful to take him down, that wasn’t just a plan, it was a visionary outcome. Saddam was the maniac who moved his army into Kuwait and once ensconced in that oil rich country, he aspired to move into Saudi Arabia, making him the present Emperor of Persia of yore. President Bush knew that promoting Democracy in Afghanistan and Iraq would cause a domino effect in the Middle East. Inside the bosom of every man and woman in Arabia, now under a despot such as there is in Syria, or Imams forcing a Theocracy in their nation, such as Iran (which now brags about getting nuclear weapons), which will not be allowed by America, while the United Nations try to talk the Iranis to death. He has been a visionary person since the day of his election, but the Liberal Democrats, who have no ideas, no solutions and obviously an anti-American bias, aping their media friends who tell us of the horrible state of Iraq, but never talk about or write about the heroism of our troops, the advancement of the Iraqis toward Democracy, Iraqis coming out in hordes to vote for freedom three separate times, the vote for their own governmental representatives, the fact that we are repairing their oil fields so that the Iraqis will have jobs and oil income to aid their democracy, nor the fact that our troops are building the power plant grids far beyond where they were during Saddam’s reign, despite Sen. Murtha, a disgraced former Marine, saying that the grid has less power time in Baghdad than before the war, when the facts are being distorted, since our troops have taken some of the grid from Baghdad, to deliver additional power to outlying areas. Also as we repair the grid, the terrorist insurgents blow up portions of the grid. That is typical of the double talk that the Liberals, who have stolen the Democratic Party and given it up to Socialists like George Soros and Move On.com.
The war was introduced by the President, as one that would require patience because there are Islamic nations under the thrall of Imams throughout the Middle East. Paris, London and Spain, as well as The United States have seen and felt the hold over the minds of the moronic terrorists, who are willing to blow themselves up, to wreak vengeance on us for being non-Muslims. And the worst part is that the newly created Democratic Party, that spews venomous accusations against America and our Commander-In-Chief and the troops who are giving up their lives for our freedom. They have nothing better to do, except give the enemy aid and comfort, since every syllable they carelessly throw out about our troops, is used by the terrorists, broadcast throughout the Middle East to kill the morale of our troops and bolster the fervor of the insurgents who pour into Iraq to stymie Iraq’s attempt to be free and establish a democracy. Ted Kennedy has the gall to play the moral voice of reason in Congress after being a drunken, lecherous cad, and cowardly murderer who ran from a drowning young woman to salvage his career, while John Kerry who aided and abetted the enemy during the Vietnam War, when he actually met and negotiated terms of peace, while still under U. S. Naval command, a treasonous act for which he should have been imprisoned, these are our dissenters. John Dean screams in maniacal voice that our President should be impeached, while we are in the middle of a War for the freedom of the entire world. None of this matters to the Liberals, but their hatred for the President, whether or not they put our troops at dire risk of death. They could not care less; it is all about regaining a majority, to be in power. They would do anything to see our troops lose the War against terror.
Yet, too many people in America don’t seem to understand the threat that hangs over them, waiting for the Democrats to come to power and try to appease murderous swine who hate us for being educated, free and wealthy. We have choices to make, which are potentially mortal for the United States of America. Abraham Lincoln fought a civil war rather than allow the union to dissolve and we are at the same crossroad at this moment. Yesterday, March 21, 2006, saw the British Prime Minister Tony Blair, recount why we must hold our course in the War on Terror, with his most telling sentence ringing clear the call to arms, when he stated, “This is not a clash between civilizations. It is a clash about civilization.” Blair is a clear thinking person, who realizes that never before have we had such an intricate and twisted threat to our rights, freedom and our very life. Do we want to fight for our lives or simply allow the loss of our freedom? It is up to our populace. It will be a long, hard fight, but well worth it. Do Americans have the guts to see this through to victory or have we minimized the threat to our way of life, simply because President Bush has seen to it that we fight our battles on their turf and not ours. Wake up folks, your life is threatened and the Democrats don’t care about you, they are only gazing at their chance to regain power, it is the Democratic aphrodisiac.
